The 9th day celebrations of Sharannavaraatrulu dedicated to the worship of Mother Siddhidhatri commenced with the Homam coinciding with the sixth day of Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajnam. The Durga Saptapadi was followed by Sri Sai Gayatri Homam, Rudrabhishekam, Purusha Sooktam.
After the Poornaahuti the Ritwiks Sri Bhargava Sarma, Sri Bharadwaja Sarma, and amongst others addressed the audience. The speakers highlighted the significance of how the Ramayana contained six sections of immense insights about conducting oneself with human values and how Lord Rama conducted Himself as an epitome of Dharma. Sri Bhargava Sharma highlighted the importance of following a Guru and highlighted that anyone giving appropriate guidance is a Guru, be it one’s parents or a stranger. Sri Bharadwaja Sarma who spoke later highlighted the significance of chanting Rudram which when chanted even once would receive the Grace of Lord Shiva who would redeem one’s sins. However, he added that devotion and total faith with discipline are essential requisites for one to become eligible for such Grace. Sri Suryanarayana Sarma highlighted the importance of chanting Vedas and of various Sooktams that have the power to ward off enemies, redeem sins and confer health. He enlightened the audience about the importance of Vedic studies. He went on to recommend the chanting of Manya sooktam for warding off enemies, Pavamana sooktam for redemption of sins, Soorya Namaskaar for grant of health and recommended chanting Devi aparadha stotram. Emphasising the need for determination he underlined the need for Patience and Pursuasion in order to materialise one’s aspirations.
The evening saw Smt. Jagarlapudi Madhavi Krishna perform a beautiful concert for the Lord. Smt Madhavi, a regular singer at TTD and a Post Graduate in Music, with her devotion to the Supreme Lord, offered several bhajans abd songs to please Him.
Swami, in His Divine Discourse, revealed the uniqueness of Bharatiyas that they have the human values in their genes and that their blood cells carry Dharma as well as Peace within them. Highlighting the need for purity, patience and perseverance, Swami urged upon everyone to pursue selfless objectives in their life. He then appreciated the bouquet of devotional songs sung by Smt J Madhavi Krishna who sang several songs with devotion. Swami also highlighted that her son, a scientist at ISRO, was one among the team that worked on the recent launch of Chandrayaan that put India on a higher league in the Global Space Mission. Swami concluded His Discourse with Blessings to all. The evening’s proceedings were brought to a close with Divya Prasadam served to all.
