*STEM Mini Science Centre: Advancing Experiential Learning & STEM Education*
The STEM Mini Science Centre at the AP Residential Girls Campus, Thatipudi, Vizianagaram District, is a meaningful initiative of Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam, established through the CSR support of Volvo Group CSR Trust (India). Inaugurated on 13 August 2026, the Centre has been created to bring experiential science learning closer to rural and tribal students, providing around 400 girl students with an engaging space to explore, question and discover.
With an investment of ₹6.5 lakh, the Centre features 80 hands-on science concepts that transform textbook learning into practical experiences. Through working models, demonstrations and experiments, students are encouraged to see, touch, test and understand scientific principles, making learning more engaging, practical and memorable.
The Centre carries a deeper purpose of empowering young girls through STEM education. Students confidently demonstrated experiments and explained the working models, reflecting the curiosity, confidence and enthusiasm nurtured through this initiative. For many of these girls, the Centre offers a first hands-on encounter with science beyond the classroom, opening their minds to new possibilities and inspiring them to explore careers in science, technology and innovation.
This initiative demonstrates how CSR, education and community partnership can create meaningful opportunities for rural and tribal students. The STEM Mini Science Centre contributes to SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. It stands as a space where curiosity is encouraged, confidence is strengthened, and young minds are inspired to envision a future filled with greater possibilities.
