Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026 – A Day of Gratitude, Patriotism & Divine Blessings

620 Veterans, Veer Naris and their families came together at Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas with immense pride, gratitude and national spirit. The gathering was not merely a remembrance of history but a heartfelt tribute to the immortal courage of the brave sons and daughters of Bharat who safeguarded our motherland at unimaginable heights during the 1999 Kargil War.

The programme was graced by Cmde. D. Chandra Sekhar (Retd.) as the Chief Guest, Dr. Chandra Shekhar P., President, Integrated Veterans Welfare Association & Veterans India, who envisioned, guided and led the entire programme, and Wing Cdr. P. Chandra Sekhar (Retd.), Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer, whose inspiring presence enriched the occasion.

The event commenced with an insightful introduction to Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam by Dr. E. Shankara Rao Garu, Former Chairman & Managing Director, IFCI, highlighting the vision of selfless service, universal love and nation-building inspiration by Divyaamritam.

One of the most touching moments of the day was the felicitation of Veer Naris, Kargil War Veterans and distinguished defence personnel by our beloved Swami. Their sacrifices are not confined to history books—they continue to inspire every generation to live with courage, discipline and selfless love for the nation.

The programme reached an emotional peak as the veterans shared their personal experiences from the 1999 Kargil War. They recalled the freezing temperatures of nearly –30°C, the steep Himalayan cliffs rising above 16,000–18,000 feet, relentless enemy fire from fortified heights, and the unwavering determination with which Indian soldiers advanced despite overwhelming odds. Every story reflected the extraordinary spirit of soldiers who chose "Service Before Self", placing the nation's honour above their own lives. Their memories reminded everyone that the victory of Kargil was achieved through unmatched courage, supreme sacrifice and the unbreakable unity of the Indian Armed Forces.

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba always held immense love and reverence for the men and women in uniform, appreciating their discipline, dedication and willingness to sacrifice for society. The atmosphere throughout the celebration reflected that divine grace, filling every heart with gratitude and inspiration.

Adding a unique dimension of service, Swayam Krushi Social Enterprise LLP lovingly served free Shakti Soda to all veterans, guests and delegates, embodying the spirit of "Lokahitam Mama Karaneeyam" through humble hospitality. The entire celebration became a beautiful confluence of patriotism, gratitude, service and spirituality, reaffirming that the courage of our Armed Forces continues to inspire the nation, while selfless service remains the highest expression of love.
