The day marks the celebration of Durga Ashtami when prayers are offered to Maa Maha Gauri an icon of Purity and serenity. The worshipping of Mother Durga is believed to bring prosperity and annihilation of sufferings of those who worship at the worldly level and to bestow Her Grace on those who seek Her Guidance on the spiritual path.
As on other days, Saura Homam and Chandi Homam were performed with utmost sincerity and dedication by the Rithwiks by offering all the stipulated dravyas (material)in the Yagna Kundam to reach the Divine Mother. The Supreme Master witnessed the Offerings and the proceedings walking into the Yaga Shaala in His unique style welcomed by all those blessed.
Speaking on the occasion Sri Indukuri Raghuraju the MLC, overwhelmed by the Divine Aura recalling every visit that he made to Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam, did not mince words in saying that the Kshetra was increasingly growing vibrant with Divinity and that the welfare of people in the area of Sri Sai Palle and its surroundings is witnessing an all round growth ever since Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Grace and compassionate Love started to descend on them over the last two years.
Speaking on this day Chinna Swami of Nellimarla said that he got connected with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba during His last birthday and that though there was a change in His Vesture(body) the Love that the Divine Heart showered remained the same. He further added that God, the Creator desires to manifest His Beauty in various forms. He told that God has no duty to perform but serves so as to set an example for others to emulate.
In His Divine Discourse, Swami urged upon everyone to ‘Just Follow Him’ and said He merely expects virtues and nothing else so that one prepares to be ready to serve the Society selflessly. Quoting an incident in Ramayana, Swami said once at one place in their exile Lakshman spoke to the Lord in an undesirable language but soon repented for his folly. Lord Rama consoled compassionately saying that was all because of Sthala Prabhavam and one should therefore be cautious while speaking. It’s in the context of the disciple, He said, the Avatar as Guru has to either inflate or deflate the ego of an individual to bring one on track and that His Connection with His devotees is a Heart to Heart One.
Speaking in the evening, Swami said the idea of establishing the Cancer hospital is by His Will and it has to happen saying one word from His side will make everyone related to rise to the need of the hour. Thus He said one should take the opportunity to convert His Will into action and derive the Anubhava Jnana leading to one’s enlightenment. He then urged upon everyone to physically and mentally be present to receive the Divine messages and wished as well as hoped that His followers would transform their environment by selflessly and lovingly serving to make a difference in the lives of the people around them.
During the evening, Smt. Vijayalakshmi Kameswari then enthralled the audience with her typical voice of a male and female mix, singing songs and bhajans that appeased the Lord. Felicitating the entire group Swami did not leave an opportunity to recall the devotion and contribution of her mother Late Smt Sathyavathamma.
The day’s proceedings came to a close with Divya Prasadam served to all.
