Sri Sathya Sai Trust For Universal Welfare has been playing a leading role in addressing the disease of Cancer especially in rural and semi-rural areas. While it is shortly coming up with a free-of-cost state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care hospital Sri Sathya Sai Divyaamritam near Thatipudi reservoir, which is about a 60-km drive from Visakhapatnam International Airport, it is also envisaging a second one near Bibinagar in Telangana.
The trust also ensures to conduct weekly medical camps in various villages and underprivileged areas that also include screening for common cancer ailments like breast cancer, oral cancer, cervical cancer etc. using advanced equipment. Thousands have been screened and those that have been detected have been referred for further diagnosis and treatment.
In order to accelerate the arrest of cancer further, especially in rural areas, the trust has now envisioned conducting cancer awareness campaigns every Thursday in various villages to remove the inhibition and fear to get one self screened, and to remove the social stigma by disseminating the right information and facts.
We believe this step will contribute towards our Nation’s health and prosperity. We welcome anyone interested in joining us for this noble initiative!
